Accountant - month-end close (Charleston, SC)

Lumen Pike Markets is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for store inventory, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with store inventory.
