Accountant - month-end close (Buffalo, NY)

Amberfield Orchard Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Buffalo focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 335 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with service installations. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
