Accountant - month-end close (Buffalo, NY)

Harborlight Vista Manufacturing makes precision components in Buffalo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
