Accountant - month-end close (Boston, MA)

Redstone Cedar Health Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for referrals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 780 people based in Boston. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around insurance authorisations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to referrals, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with referrals. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
