Accountant - month-end close (Birmingham, AL)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Granite Financial Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer onboarding, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer onboarding.
