Accountant - month-end close (Birmingham, AL)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Yarrow Health Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 16 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinic supplies, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around electronic records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with clinic supplies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
