Accountant - month-end close (Birmingham, AL)

Rivermark Fox Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for supplier deliveries, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
