Accountant - month-end close (Baltimore, MD)

Cedar Clear Foods is a Baltimore food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Baltimore. • We reply to every applicant.
