Accountant - month-end close (Baltimore, MD)

Northwind Linden Legal Group is a Baltimore practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 94 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with trust accounts. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
