Accountant - month-end close (Atlanta, GA)

Fernwood Juniper Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 206 people based in Atlanta. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cleaning schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Atlanta, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
