Accountant - month-end close (Atlanta, GA)

Northwind Corner Auto Group is a Atlanta company supplying vehicle parts and service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 416 people based in Atlanta. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service appointments. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
