Accountant - month-end close (Atlanta, GA)

Northwind Juniper Legal Group is a Atlanta practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with trust accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Atlanta. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
