Accountant - month-end close (Anchorage, AK)

We are growing our team at Nova Keystone Arts Center Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We run on creativity, deadlines and a lot of goodwill. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to event logistics, and clear open items. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with event logistics. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
