Accountant - month-end close (Anchorage, AK)

We are growing our team at Lumen Loom Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 169 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
