Accountant - month-end close (Anchorage, AK)

Ironwood Wren Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for ticketing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ticketing, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around visitor services against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with ticketing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
