Accountant - month-end close (Anchorage, AK)

Silverline Fern Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for care plans, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Track costs around client records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with care plans. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
