Accountant - month-end close (Albuquerque, NM)

Cedar Yarrow Inspection Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for equipment calibration, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Albuquerque, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
