Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Wichita, KS)

Silverline Stone Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for test reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
