Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Virginia Beach, VA)

Cedar Vista Financial Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for vendor spend, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around payment disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vendor spend. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
