Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Virginia Beach, VA)

Ironwood Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Virginia Beach, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to warranty claims, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with warranty claims.
