Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tulsa, OK)

Fernwood West Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Tulsa area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We invest in training. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Tulsa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
