Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tucson, AZ)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Fern Telecom and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Tucson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
