Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Toledo, OH)

Silverline Umber Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Toledo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Toledo. • We reply to every applicant.
