Summit Ember Press · Toledo, OH · contract

Summit Ember Press is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for customer orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 755 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Toledo. • We reply to every applicant.
