Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Toledo, OH)

Redstone Quill Freight · Toledo, OH · full time

Redstone Quill Freight is a Toledo logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
