Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Toledo, OH)

Summit Oak Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Toledo region, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Toledo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
