Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Toledo, OH)

Nova Rook Construction is a Toledo contractor with project managers, trades and support staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
