Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

We are growing our team at Northwind Yarrow Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We reward reliability. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with proof of delivery. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Tampa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
