Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

Summit Basin Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for account openings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 724 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with account openings.
