Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

Ironwood Timber Markets is a Tampa retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 647 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Tampa. • We reply to every applicant.
