Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

We are growing our team at Nova Haven Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to premium billing, and clear open items. • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with premium billing. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Tampa. • We reply to every applicant.
