Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

Highbridge Pine Water Authority Group operates treatment plants and pipelines around Tampa, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 808 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around treatment plant data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Tampa. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
