Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Tampa, FL)

Northwind Kestrel Pharma Group is a pharmaceutical company in Tampa producing generic and specialty treatments. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 116 people based in Tampa. What you will do • Track costs around regulatory filings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with release testing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Tampa. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
