Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Seattle, WA)

Northwind Logistics is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for customer specifications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer specifications. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Seattle. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
