Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Savannah, GA)

Amberfield Orchard Care Services provides in-home and community support in Savannah. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visit scheduling, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around caregiver training against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with visit scheduling. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
