Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Savannah, GA)

Nova Orchard Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for exhibitions, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
