Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Jose, CA)

Westbrook Rowan Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for weigh tickets, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
