Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Cedar Union Farms and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with field records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Jose, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
