Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Jose, CA)

Ironwood Maple Financial is a financial-services company in San Jose. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer onboarding, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around regulatory reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer onboarding. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Jose, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
