Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Bright Haven Pharma Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical studies, and clear open items. • Track costs around release testing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with clinical studies. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
