Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Loom Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 99 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with vehicle inspections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
