Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Diego, CA)

Lumen Cobalt Early Learning is an early-learning provider in San Diego. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Diego. • We reply to every applicant.
