Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Antonio, TX)

Cedar Keystone Foods produces packaged foods at its San Antonio plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
