Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Antonio, TX)

We are growing our team at Lumen Lantern Early Learning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 808 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with licensing records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Antonio. • We reply to every applicant.
