Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Antonio, TX)

Rivermark Timber Housing provides affordable homes and support services around San Antonio. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Collaboration with local agencies is constant. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around waiting lists against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with maintenance stores. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
