Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Antonio, TX)

Bluepeak Vale Community Partners Group is a San Antonio charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food distribution, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around benefits enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with food distribution. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Antonio. • We reply to every applicant.
