Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

Stonegate Bright Markets serves neighbourhoods around Salt Lake City with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We reply to every applicant.
