Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

Ironwood West Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for service connections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with service connections.
