Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

Clearpath Iron Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with classroom supplies.
