Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Salt Lake City, UT)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Pike Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Service hours are steady. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
